The film The Island of Freedom documents stories of Taiwanese, Hong Kong and Eastern European characters, taking place against the backdrop of recent political exchanges between Taiwan and Eastern European countries—Czech Republic and Ukraine—and portrays their actions and bravery against global powers – Russia and China. No country is too small to create change.

Film is in development stage, supported by the Czech Film Fund development fund and the Oriental Institute of the Academy of Czech Sciences grant with the support of the Strategy AV21: Research programme Identities in the World of Wars and Crises.
